Up and at 'em

Three players, Christanval, Pearce and Keller, look set to return to the squad after having successfully completed 90 minutes for the reserves. Pearce is a particular favourite of The Cottager. He's one of the few players who seems to sum up what Fulham's about. I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions on that one.

Keller really hasn't had a chance to prove himself in goal. This may have something to do with the fact that it's impossible to prise Niemi off the goal line at the moment. His reactions to Adebayor's two headers last Saturday are currently being studied by students at the Slade School of Art, who specialise in the discipline of Still Life.

As for Christanval, take your sweatshirt off son, you're going on.

Thanks for that, Chopper.

I really think it's time to give the bald guy from Seattle a run in goal. He doesn't have Niemi's reflexes, but he's got good positional sense, commands his area with a lot more authority than does the Finn and, most importantly, is better in coming off the line and distributing the ball.

Niemi is the reason we're still in the Prem, and he's earned us more than a few points, but I think he's lost us some this season as well with his hesitancy.

I personally thought that Niemi should have had a chance to at least react to Adebayor's goals (maybe not actually save them), but was wondering if I was just being a bit harsh. It just seems that, at a professional keeper, he should have been at least moving with the play.

Great news on those three, and welcome aboard!

I'm with you on Pearce - I thought he was very good for us last season and has been missed this season. Not sure if he'll make it into the lineup now that Hangeland is in, but I'm happy to see him back in full training.
